GSX Needs You!

Where: Aldergrove Regional Park
When: Saturday, October 5, 2019

GSX is co-hosting the Aldergrove CX race and we need volunteers. As you already know, volunteers are a crucial part of our sport. In collaboration with Vancouver Cyclocross Coalition, we are hosting the Aldergrove race, and many hands make light work. If you think you are able to help, please let us know!

If you are planning on racing, your race fees will be covered as a volunteer. Otherwise, you will have to settle with just being our hero.

Winter Rides

Saturday, September 28th marks our last official club ride. It is a North Shore Group ride, so as always, meet at Bean Around the World at 8:30am.

Moving forward, the unofficial winter rides will start at 9:00am at 4th & Alma and follow the typical Richmond loop. NB: There is construction along Dyke Rd. and an alternate route should be planned. These rides are:

  • No-drop

  • Will carry on without ride leaders

  • Require full length fenders!

The Board would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the Ride Leaders who volunteered their weekends to host club members. We had fantastic weather all summer long and could take full advantage because of the enthusiasm they bring each and every week.

Thank You!

GSX Don’t Stop

The 2019-2020 CX season has started, and what a season it has been already! It was good to see all of the new faces at the kick off party, and familiar faces that came to make it the highest attended kick off event to date. Many thanks to our sponsor Westpoint Cycles for hosting another great event!

Speaking of record attendance, the CX clinic! Everyone learned a trick or two from our CX race ambassador, Wai-Ben Wong.

@vancxphotos made an appearance and immortalized the event in photos - and even captured a video! GSX Clinic gallery

GSX at Donkey Cross

The first race is done and dusted and we kicked it off with a podium! The CX gods provided perfect weather and the donkey was great entertainment. The suds were flowing in the beer garden, and the fans were heckling, cheering, and giving out wild handups!

Mel Lee and Gowa Kong looked strong throughout the novice race, and it was with true grit and determination that they finished 2nd & 3rd in the Novice Women category.
