That's a wrap for BC Superweek 2016

BC Superweek 2016 is officially done and dusted. The most hotly anticipated week of racing didn't disappoint with its flurry of competition, excitement, fans, and (just a few) crashes.

From July 8 - 17, featuring 8 races over 9 days, BC Superweek has fast become one of the most prestigious pro-cycling events in North America with a total prize purse of more than $120,000! Featuring 6 separate events as part of the series, BC Superweek consists of the Tour de Delta, Global Relay Gastown Grand Prix, Giro di Burnaby, PoCo Grand Prix, and the Tour de White Rock. The highlight every year is not just the level of competition but also the thousands of people that spectate and create an amazing atmosphere.

The Glotman•Simpson Race Team was represented in the women's and men's Pro 1/2 field,  and with a very strong Cat 3 category. The most competitive races of the year,  it is never easy but both the women's and men's teams matched every attack and battled out the fields in some very fast and supra-threshold grueling events. Special congratulations to Wai-Ben Wong who placed third in the Tour de Delta Brenco Criterium Cat 3 Race.

Beyond racing, these riders are also our year-round club ambassadors, ride leaders and coaches. It is with much appreciation and gratitude that they were met with the support, cheers, and ringing cowbells from club members, family and friends. Our fan club was one of the biggest and most noticeable at each event - every cheer and scream from the spectator stands fed our racers with motivation to keep going and strength to hammer harder on the pedals.
