Every year the Glotman•Simpson Cycling Racing Team comes fast, fit and ready to the BC Provincial Cycling Championships. With some of the most competitive and difficult fields seen in years, the team proved to be a force to be reckoned with, earning 33 top 10 finishes in the time trial, road race and criterium disciplines.

The Accenture BC Elite and Master Road and Time Trial Championships were held on May 28 and 29 in the Greater Vancouver region of BC. This was followed by the BC Criterium Championships hosted at the Robert W. Cameron Law Cycling Series on June 5, in Victoria, BC.View the complete photo gallery and list of results.

Mount Baker 1-Day Ride: Friday, July 1

The annual Canada Day Mt. Baker ride will begin at the Sumas Canada / USA border at 8 AM onFriday, July 1st. The ride is approximately 145km in length, split into 36km segments. See route mapPre-registration is required to attend this ride. All individuals that register will receive follow-up communications confirming ride details. If you have any questions about this ride, or would be willing to volunteer vehicle support, please complete the form to contact us.


  • Friday, July 1: Arrive at 7:30 AM. Ride leaves at 8 AM from Canada at Huntington / Sumas Border.
  • Parking is available on 2nd Ave and 3rd Ave. adjacent to the border. Do not park in the mall parking lots for risk of towing.
  • Cost: $20/person.


  • Passport and US dollars.
  • Insurance coverage.
  • Each rider must bring their own bag across the border. Riders should bring their own clothing, food and equipment for the ride.

September 10:RBC Whistler GranFondo - Whistler, BC
Club members can receive a discount, and save $20 off the price of entry. GranFondo Canada is also extending this discount to events including RBC GranFondo Banff, The Intrepid Stage Ride Okanagan, and Bici Gusti Gourmet Ride Whistler. Visit the club’s Member Forum.

October 1: Levi's Gran Fondo - Santa Rosa, California
Interested in a glass of wine with your bicycle ride? For people looking to attend the four-day, three night weekend package for Levi’s Gran Fondo in Sonoma, you are encouraged to contact Lindsay Carswell for more details.

Track your rides on Strava and challenge your fellow club members, for all the glory, and socks! Riders can enter as recreational or racer, with results sorted by gender and age groups. Ride the designated segments to capture the overall General Classification, King/Queen of the Mountains and Sprint Competition. You need to be a member of Glotman Simpson Cycling on Strava to participate. Here's how:

  1. Click here to register and take the Strava Challenge
  2. Log in with your Strava account, and confirm your gender and age category
  3. Go out and ride! Most of the segments are popular local routes. Remember to record your rides in Strava.
  4. The challenge runs May 1 to October 2, 2016. Check back regularly to see current results.

Wednesday group rides to Cypress Mountain

A friendly reminder about our new weeknight workout with an evening ride to the first lookout of Cypress Mountain. This is a ride intended for B level riders and above.

Ride expectation:The group will ride together to the base of Cypress Mountain, where riders can then begin climbing at their own pace. We recommend riders be prepared for travel during sunset hours, and are equipped with both front and rear flashing lights. Please note, there are NOscheduled ride leaders, but you can bet to see a lot of GS jerseys out there! 

  • Start locationStanley Park Information Booth (beside Stanley Park Horse-Drawn Tours)
  • Finish location: First lookout, Cypress Mountain
  • Ride starts at 5:30 PM

Register a Cypress Challenge team to receive a custom jersey 

The 9th Annual Glotman•Simpson Cypress Challenge will be hosted on Sunday, August 14, 2016, in support of life-saving pancreatic cancer research at the BC Cancer Agency. 

Individual entry is by a suggested minimum early bird donation of $25 before August 8. Register as a team of four in the Team Challenge for $500 and each team member will receive a custom Cypress Challenge jersey with their team logo. Logo submission deadline is July. Still haven't picked up your free club jersey?

Starting tomorrow, Tuesday, June 14, club members can pick up their free club jerseys (the one included with your registered membership) at Different Bikes West Vancouver (1437 Clyde Ave, West Vancouver). This includes jerseys for club members that registered March through May, 14.

For individuals that made personal orders earlier in May, your orders are expected to ship next week. The next online order window will be available in early July. Stay tuned for the e-mail announcement in your inbox.
