Join our season kick-off social event on April 8, 2015
The flowers are blooming and the birds are chirping. It's that time again to officially kick-off the season with our annual social event and AGM. We have a lot planned with Glotman Simpson Cycling this year and encourage all club members, and those interested in joining or learning more about the club to attend.
PRE-ORDERED KIT & FREE JERSEY PICK UP
All pre-ordered kit and free club jerseys for club members (that registered before February 16) will be available for pick-up at the event after our kick-off presentation. We'll also have a few more goodies for sale such as limited edition socks, water bottles and items from our supporting sponsors, so remember to bring cash or your checkbook. If you missed the window to order your kit, the online store will be open again in late April. For club members that registered after February 16, your free club jersey will be available later in May.
WHERE: St. Regis Hotel
WHEN: Wednesday April 8, 2015
TIME: 7 - 9 pm
Our Annual General Meeting will be presented for any interested club members (prior to the official kick-off event) at 6:30 PM. Food and drinks will be available to purchase.

Exclusive club member offer from RC Dental Group
Ken Phillips is not just one of Vancouver's fastest 50-year-old cyclists and a long-time Glotman•Simpson Cycling club member and sponsor, he's also one of Vancouver's finest dentists. Exclusive to registered club members, Ken is offering a 20% discount on dental services. Has anyone ever heard of a dentist giving discounts? Didn't think so.
To cap it all off, for members that already have insurance coverage and and go to RC Dental Group, Ken will still make a donation (20% of your dental fee) to support Pancreatic Cancer Research at the BC Cancer Foundation. I'm sure you can see why you should book your next cleaning with Ken Phillips at Royal Centre Dental Group. To book your appointment give Ken's office a call or drop by in person:

Let's fondo together in 2015!
Gran fondos provide a great opportunity to test your fitness, achieve a set goal and have a lot of fun. For many, these are the best rides of the year and a great time to bond with fellow club mates. New for this year, we'll be focusing on a select number of mass participation rides to help you get the most out of your fondo.
Our gran fondo coordinators will provide pre-event coordination with team registration, group get-togethers and support. For some, this might mean strategizing about pacelines and feed stations. For others, it could just include a reserved area at the start line. Most definitely, it will include post-event libations to celebrate the successes of the day.
If you plan to participate in any of these events, contact the designated coordinator noted below. You can also stay up to date, and connect with other club riders in our Club Member Forum.

Check out Buntain Insurance on Main Street!
Check it out, GSC and the Annual Cypress Challenge are represented in full force! Buntain Insurance Group of Companies proudly continues its dedication to supporting our club and most importantly, the Cypress Challenge in support of pancreatic cancer research.
Buntain's newest location is scheduled to open this fall, at 4226 Main Street (between 26th and 27th). Just because a building is under construction, doesn't mean it can't look pretty. If you are in the area, we invite you to drive by and check out the new temporary signage.
Newport Beach, CA Riding Camp: March 22 - 28
As announced earlier this year, club members are invited to join our riding camp in sunny Newport Beach, California. Group rides will follow designated daily routes from March 22 through to 28. This will be our first year in Newport but reports are the riding is supposed to be awesome in this area!
All you need to do is get to Newport Beach, arrange a place to stay and a bike to ride. Fly direct from Vancouver to LAX (short drive to Newport) or to John Wayne Airport in Santa Ana. This is not a training camp - other than planning to ride together, no other arrangements are being made. Bike rentals are available at Aroadbike4U in Irvine, and Bike Religion in Dana Point.
Please email Jim Desroches if you are interested and or view the complete ride routes and information.
Spin classes roll to an end in March
March spin classes are now available! You can still purchase 10 sessions for $150 or drop-in for $20. This will be the last month before our official outdoor riding begins in April. Now that you've got all that base under your belt, sessions will focus on intervals. If you would like to join us the schedule is as follows:
Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday: 6 - 7:30 PM
Saturday: 8:30 - 10 AM
