The First Annual Glotman Simpson Cycling CX race went off with out a hitch on the morning of Saturday November 13th. Everyone in attendance was in good spirts and the race ran like a finely oiled chain, thanks to all the hard work of the organizers on volunteers. Although we didn't have as many races out as we would like, we are all looking forward to an ever better and bigger CX event next year.

Note - We will be posting photos from the race shortlyPhotos have now been posted. Continue reading after the break for all the results.

Team Escape Velocity will be hosting the annual Toy Ride on Saturday, November 20, 2010 in support of the Lower Mainland Christmas Bureau. All cyclists, cycling clubs and teams are urged to come out and join us in support of this worthy cause. Riders are encouraged to bring  donations in the form of cash or cheques made out to the Lower Mainland Christmas Bureau.  Monetary donations are preferred as this provides the LMCB the most flexibility in assisting those individuals who need help the most. This past weekend saw an amazing showing of Glotman Simpson Cycling talent as GSC took 5 of the top 6 masters positions!

Following are two perspectives from the trenches:

"Russ and Bob C. set the tempo on the flat section at the beginning enabling Al, Mike and Bob W. to preserve ourselves for the climb. We hit the climb and hid behind Mike until a few hundred meters from the top, then we bravely managed to overtake Mike (I grabbed his jersey and pulled him back while Al made his move!)" - Bob W.
