It is that time of year again. May is upon us and the skies have finally opened up producing great riding weather. Allan and Dan have decided to change the hill climb dates to Wednesday nights leaving APT at 6:00pm and then Westpoint Cycles at 6:20pm. This year they will be selling off 5 week packages at a rate of $75. Drop in will be $20. Allan and Dan are encouraging everyone do take the 5 week package route as it is easier to train you all if you are following the progression.
These sessions aren't random. There is purpose to each weeks work out which sets your body up for the following weeks work out. These training progressions will be targeting the power, speed and endurance systems of the body as they relate to climbing. Tell all your friends, family co-workers.
To attend you must have a helmet, good working bike and some riding experience as these work outs are hard. When spreading the word, let people know that these aren't just hill climbing repeats. Both Allan and Dan ride up the hill with you and give you feed back on technique, positioning, mental tactics to help break-up the climb making it hurt less and recovery tips. All work outs are interval based so you aren't just riding up and down a hill for an hour. What does interval based mean? You are doing efforts with small rest breaks during each climb which vary depending on the work out goal.
