Hello everyone,

Our club and team is planning to participate at the 2009 Ride to Survive.

The Ride to Survive leaves on June 20th 2009 in Kelowna BC and will finish after 400 kms and 12,000 feet of climbing in Delta. All of our proceeds of the ride will go to the Canadian Cancer Society which will transfer the money to Pancreatic Cancer Research for our club.

In 2006 almost $40,000 got raised! 2007 saw an enormous jump to $200,000 raised.  In 2008, 63 riders and 30 volunteers raised $230,000. It is important to mention that 100% of the raised money will go to the Cancer Society and nothing is being used to cover expenses!

On January 14th the Ride 2 Survive Organization is having their first orientation meeting. Dan Schmit will be attending the meeting for our club and is looking forward if lots of you will join him and sign up for the ride. Please contact Dan at dhschmit@yahoo.com if you have questions regarding our club involvement at the ride.  It would great to have as many people as possible show up to this meeting  so that we can demonstrate how seriousness we are as an organization towards cancer research and the Ride 2 Survive. We strongly suggest that everyone, even if your aren’t planning on doing the ride, to visit the website. Dan has participated in the 2008 ride and we have attached his write-up regarding his experience.

The meeting is being held at:
