The Glotman•SImpson Cycling Club is committed to helping find a cure for Pancreatic Cancer, a deadly form of gastrointestinal cancer. From the BC Pancreatic Cancer Research Net:
"Pancreatic Cancer is the second most common gastrointestinal malignancy and the fourth leading cause of cancer death in North America. It affects both men and women. According to statistics from the National Cancer Institute of Canada, approximately 3,400 Canadians are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer yearly. In British Columbia, approximately 480 new cases are diagnosed each year. The mortality rate is virtually identical to the incidence rate. Only 1-4% of pancreatic cancer patients survive at five years after diagnosis."

In terms of fundraising 2009 proved to be incredibly successful as the Glotman•SImpson Cycling Club was able to fundraise an astonishing $42,000 towards Pancreatic Cancer Research. In 2010 we will not only continue to support the Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund, but wish to exceed our 2009 effort.
